Violin masterclasses

Continuing in our tradition of elevating music education standards, the IMA is planning future opportunities for string students such as a Technique Olympics Competition, a Bach Competition, as well as various String MasterClasses.

During MasterClasses, students will receive expert feedback from renowned teachers and pedagogues. Those interested in the MasterClasses may sign up online, either as participants or as observants. There is a limited number of participants allowed so sign up early!  Students and teachers not participating in the MasterClass may observe the MasterClasses  online.

The class is 80 – 100 minutes for 4 – 5 participants (Each participant will be given between 20 – 25 minutes)

If you wish to get an expert’s opinion to help polish your piece and perfect all details and nuances, please sign up on the form below. Four participants will be together in a 75 minute session. This masterclass focuses on the required lists of the Annual IMA competition. 

EMILIA BLASZAK-FREYMILLER

Strings masterclasses - chairperson

Emilia Blaszak-Freymiller is the teaching artist at the Polish-American Conservatory of Music and Arts and South Loop Strings. She is on the board of the directors and committee chair of strings at the Illinois Music Association. Her students are members of many orchestras in the Chicago area. Many of Ms. Blaszak-Freymiller’s students regularly participate in and are awarded at violin festivals and competitions, including the IMA Annual Competition, DePaul Concerto Festival for Young Performers, Sejong Music Competition and more.
